MadeIT Omnibus

MadeIT Omnibus records your price history and shows the lowest price of the last 30 days on simple product pages, for free. The Pro add-on extends the notice to variations and product lists and adds four styles and your own wording.

Installation and setup

The EU Omnibus directive requires shops to show the lowest price of the last 30 days before the reduction next to every sale price. MadeIT Omnibus records the price of your products every time it changes and shows the reference price under the sale price.

  1. Install and activate WooCommerce and MadeIT Omnibus. From this moment the plugin records the price history.
  2. Open MadeIT Omnibus → Settings and choose where the notice is shown and what happens when there is no history.
  3. Set a sale price on a product in WooCommerce. The product shows up on the plugin screen with its reference price.

The plugin helps you display the information required by the directive. It does not give legal advice, so check with your adviser how the rules apply to your shop.

Price history Free

  • A history row is stored for every price change, including changes made in the product editor.
  • A daily snapshot catches changes made outside the admin: imports, scheduled sales and bulk edits.
  • The settings screen shows the number of products in the history and the date since when history is recorded.

How the reference price is counted Free

The reference price is the lowest price of the 30 days <strong>before the first step of the current reduction</strong>, not of the last 30 days from today. A long sale therefore does not hide the real price from before it.

  • Several consecutive reductions in a row (for example 100 → 90 → 80) count as one reduction, so the window is counted from the first of them.
  • The notice appears only on sale products, when the price before the reduction was higher than the current one.

Sales that started before the plugin was activated

SettingEffect
Use the regular price of the productWhen there is no history before the reduction, the regular price is shown as the reference price. Check that it matches the lowest price of the last 30 days.
Do not show the noticeWhen there is no history, no notice is displayed.

The notice on the product page Free

Under the sale price of a simple product the notice "Lowest price of the last 30 days before the reduction: X" appears. It works with the WooCommerce block templates and with classic themes.

The "Show on the product page" setting turns the notice on and off.

The settings screen and products on sale Free

MadeIT Omnibus → Settings has a counter of products in the history and a list of products on sale with the reference price customers see and the current price. Next to it is a preview of the notice on a sale product.

Variable products and lists PRO

  • Variable products and their variations show the notice according to the "Show on the product page" option.
  • Product lists and categories: the "Show in product lists and categories" option adds the notice under the price in the shop grid.

Styles and texts PRO

  • Four styles: Bar, Badge, Box and Text, and an accent colour. The text inherits your theme font.
  • The "Lowest: {price}" text is editable. Placeholders: {price} (the lowest price) and {days} (the number of days, 30). An empty field restores the default text.

The [madeit_omnibus] shortcode PRO

Place <code>[madeit_omnibus]</code> in a template or on a page to show the notice somewhere else. Add <code>id="123"</code> to show it for a specific product.

Pro license and updates PRO

  1. Download the add-on from your customer account and upload it in Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
  2. Activate it. It needs MadeIT Omnibus and WooCommerce to be active.
  3. In MadeIT Omnibus → License paste the 32-character key and click "Save and activate".

Troubleshooting

  • There is no notice: the product is not on sale, the price before the reduction was not higher, or there is no history and "Do not show the notice" is chosen.
  • The reference price looks too low or too high: check the history, and remember the window is counted from the start of the reduction.
  • The notice does not show for variations or in lists: those options are in the Pro add-on.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the free plugin as well?

Yes. MadeIT Omnibus Pro is an add-on and needs the free MadeIT Omnibus plugin from WordPress.org to be installed and active. The free plugin records the price history.

Is anything in the free plugin locked until I buy Pro?

No. The free plugin is complete: it records the price history, counts the 30 days and shows the reference price on the page of a simple product. Pro adds variations, product lists, styles, your own wording and a shortcode.

What exactly does the plugin show?

For a product on sale it shows the lowest price that applied in the 30 days before the reduction was first applied, for example "Lowest price in the last 30 days before the reduction: €100.00".

How does the plugin know prices from before I installed it?

It does not, because WooCommerce does not keep such a history. The plugin collects data from the moment it is activated. For sales that began earlier you can use the regular price of the product or show no notice.

Is this solution compliant with the law?

The plugin helps you meet the information requirement, but the seller remains responsible for making the offer comply with the rules. If in doubt, ask your legal adviser how to present prices.

What happens if I deactivate Pro?

The free plugin keeps recording the price history. The notice stays on the page of simple products and disappears from variations and lists until you reactivate Pro.

What happens when the license expires?

The installed version keeps working without limits. Only new versions and support are paused until you renew.

How many sites can I use one license on?

One license covers one site. You can detach the site in your customer account and activate the license somewhere else.
