MadeIT Abandoned Carts
MadeIT Abandoned Carts is free and sends one reminder. The Pro add-on adds a second email a day later, a one-time coupon for customers who still hesitate and full control over the wording and the button colour.

Installation and setup
MadeIT Abandoned Carts remembers the carts of customers who gave their email address and did not finish the order. After the time you choose it sends one email with a link that restores the cart and takes the customer to checkout. It needs an active WooCommerce, working outgoing email and WP-Cron.
- Install and activate WooCommerce and MadeIT Abandoned Carts.
- Open MadeIT Abandoned Carts → Settings and set after how many hours the reminder goes out.
- Check the text about reminders in your privacy policy (the plugin adds it to the policy draft).
Only message customers you are allowed to contact, following the data protection and electronic communication rules that apply to your shop.
Remembering carts Free
- A cart is saved for logged-in customers and for guests who type their email at checkout. Under the email field there is a short note for the customer.
- Without an email address the customer is never tracked. A cart appears in the list only once we know the address.
- A cart counts as abandoned when the customer gave an email address and changed nothing in the cart for the set time.
- It works with the classic and the block checkout.
The reminder email Free
- One email after the delay you set (default 1 hour, counted from the last change in the cart). Sending runs in the background in small batches.
- The link in the email restores the cart in a new session and opens the checkout or the cart (the "The link in the email leads to" setting).
- The "Show the list of cart products in the email" option.
- Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. Opted-out addresses are remembered as hashes.
The cart list and statistics Free
MadeIT Abandoned Carts → Carts shows the tracked carts with their status, value and last activity, status filters and a search. The counters at the top: carts being tracked, recovered in 30 days and the value of recovered sales over 30 days (with the recovery rate).
- Status active: the customer can still come back. Abandoned: the time has passed and the email was sent or scheduled. Recovered: the customer placed an order.
- You can delete a cart from the list.
Privacy and data clean-up Free
- Retention period (60 days by default): after it carts are deleted and recovered ones are anonymised (only the amounts stay for the statistics).
- Text for the privacy policy added automatically.
- Support for the WordPress personal data eraser.

Second reminder and coupon PRO
MadeIT Abandoned Carts → Settings → Second reminder: turn on the second email and choose when it goes out, counted from the first one.
Optionally add a one-time coupon: a percentage of the cart or a fixed amount, valid for a number of days. The coupon is created when the second email is sent, is tied to the customer's address and appears under Marketing → Coupons.
Texts and button colour PRO
The Texts tab edits the subjects, the heading, both messages, the coupon sentence, the button label and the note under the email field at checkout. Placeholders:
{name}
,
{site}
, and for the coupon
{coupon_code}
,
{coupon_value}
,
{coupon_expires}
. An empty field restores the default. The Appearance tab sets the button colour. Both tabs show a preview.

- In MadeIT Abandoned Carts → License paste the 32-character key and click "Save and activate".
Troubleshooting
- Reminders do not go out: check WordPress email (wp_mail), SMTP and WP-Cron.
- The second email does not go out: check that the second reminder is on and that the customer did not come back and change the cart.
- The coupon is not in the email: it is added to the second email only, and only when the coupon option is on.
- The Pro tabs do not appear: the free plugin must be active and the add-on activated.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need the free plugin as well?
Yes. MadeIT Abandoned Carts Pro is an add-on and needs the free MadeIT Abandoned Carts plugin from WordPress.org to be installed and active. The free plugin tracks the carts and sends the first reminder.
Is anything in the free plugin locked until I buy Pro?
No. The free plugin is complete: tracking, one reminder, the restore link, unsubscribe, statistics and clean-up. Pro adds the second reminder, the coupon, editable texts and the button colour.
How does the coupon work?
The plugin creates a WooCommerce coupon for the percentage or amount you set, valid for the number of days you choose, usable once and only by the customer's email address. It appears in Marketing → Coupons and is applied when the customer opens the restore link.
How many emails does a customer get?
At most two: the first from the free plugin and the second from Pro. The same address never gets two reminders within 12 hours, and a customer who returns and changes the cart does not get the second one.
Is this compliant with privacy rules?
The plugin helps: it notes at checkout that the cart is saved, offers one-click unsubscribe, deletes old data and supports the personal data eraser. You remain responsible for having a legal basis to contact customers.
What happens if I deactivate Pro?
The free plugin keeps tracking and sends one reminder with the default texts. The second reminder and the coupon stop, and coupons already issued stay valid until they expire.
What happens when the license expires?
The installed version keeps working without limits. Only new versions and support are paused until you renew.
How many sites can I use one license on?
One license covers one site. You can detach the site in your customer account and activate the license somewhere else.
